Soлomiya No. 2 Launch in Berlin
The magazine’s second volume launched at the gallery KVOST in Berlin with the team in Kyiv Zooming in to celebrate.
- by Maitreya Ravenstar
On 25 March, we got to celebrate the launch of soлomiya No. 2 in Berlin. The party was hosted by KVOST, a gallery dedicated to promoting Central and Eastern European artists whose life and work are shaped by the former Eastern bloc. It was meaningful to come together for the visibility and support of Ukrainian art in times of war. We also Zoomed with the team in Kyiv, who spoke about the project to the crowd gathered in the gallery.
Soлomiya is an artist-made magazine that deals with the grief and hope that this time of war brings to young Ukrainians through art and writing. Enlarged spreads from the issue were displayed throughout the exhibition for the event, enveloping us in the power of their messages. Coming together to celebrate the artists’ accomplishments and the Ukrainian community was special and left an impression on us all.
