About Us

SHIFT BOOKS combines art, photography, and literature, creating spaces for contemporary artistic positions as well as social and cultural policy discourse. Its publications address current debates and broaden the exchange with diverse perspectives. In addition to the high quality of the content, design plays a central role, facilitating access to complex topics. Particular attention is paid to tactility and materiality, as well as a holistically sustainable production process.

Collaboration with Museums & Institutions

A project-based collaboration

Souvenir. Literatures and Mementos from Central and Eastern Europe arose from a two-year collaboration of eleven literary houses, initiated by Literaturhaus Stuttgart. Authors combined literary texts with personal mementos, photographically staged by Ekaterina Zershchikova.

The publication was developed by the publisher in terms of concept, design, as well as manufacturing and production, and serves as an exemplary case for project-based forms of collaboration.
