Right of Withdrawal and Returns

Right of Withdrawal for Consumers

Consumers have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.

The withdrawal period is 14 days from the day on which you or a third party designated by you, who is not the carrier, takes possession of the goods.

To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient to send your notice before the withdrawal period has expired.

Effects of Withdrawal

If you withdraw from this contract, we will reimburse all payments received from you, including the cost of standard delivery, within 14 days from the day we receive your notice of withdrawal.

Refunds will be issued using the same payment method used for the original transaction, unless expressly agreed otherwise.

We may withhold the refund until we have received the returned goods or proof that you have returned them.

You must return the goods within 14 days after informing us of your withdrawal.

The direct costs of returning the goods are borne by the customer.

You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from handling other than what is necessary to examine their nature, characteristics, and functioning.

Condition of Returned Goods

Books, prints, and editions offered by SHIFT BOOKS are collectible cultural products and must be returned in unused condition.

Returned items must be in the same condition in which they were received, including:

original packaging
protective materials
any accompanying items or inserts

If returned goods show signs of use, handling beyond inspection, damage, or missing components, we reserve the right to reduce the refund accordingly or refuse the return, in accordance with applicable consumer law.

Packaging and Protection

Art prints and limited editions must be returned properly packaged and protected to avoid damage during transport.

Customers are responsible for any loss in value resulting from inadequate return packaging.

Limited Editions, Signed Books and Art Prints

Certain products offered by SHIFT BOOKS are produced as limited editions or individually prepared artworks.

The right of withdrawal does not apply to:

signed or personalized books
numbered limited editions
fine art prints produced in limited editions
artworks or special editions prepared specifically for the customer

These items are considered collectible editions and may therefore not be returned once the order has been confirmed, unless the item arrives damaged or defective.

Exclusion of the Right of Withdrawal

The right of withdrawal does not apply to contracts for:

goods made to the consumer’s specifications or clearly personalized
goods that are liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly
sealed goods which are not suitable for return for health or hygiene reasons if unsealed after delivery
newspapers, magazines, or periodicals (except subscriptions)

Artist Books and Production Characteristics

Please note that slight variations in paper, printing, binding, or finishing may occur due to the artistic and handcrafted nature of artist books and limited editions.

Such characteristics are not considered defects.
