Solomiya – The Environmental Issue is the first monothematic issue of the Ukrainian-German publication Solomiya. In collaboration with the Ukrainian Environmental Humanities Network (UEHN), it brings together artistic and academic contributions on more-than-human communities and ecologies in Ukraine. The issue offers diverse perspectives on landscape, environment, and knowledge, and critically examines colonial, imperial, and extractivist narratives. Contributions guide readers through regions from Chernobyl and Kherson to Odesa and Luhansk, addressing ecological transformations, memory, research in exile, and sustainable visions for the future.
